4th IoD Ghana Corporate Governance Excellence Awards: Multimedia Group receives special recognition award


Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) received special recognition for its role in harnessing good corporate governance practices in the country.

The company was honored for its immense contribution to promoting a culture of good corporate governance in the media industry in Ghana.

MGL was one of the top five corporate entities honored at 4e Institute of Directors Ghana Corporate Governance Excellence Awards held in Accra.

Speaking to JoyBusiness at the ceremony, the multimedia group’s human resources director, Samuel Nana Mbroh Elegba, attributed the success attributed to the media organization’s documentaries as one of the main factors.

The Multimedia Group is a media giant, consisting of six radio stations – Joy FM, Adom FM, Hitz FM, Luv FM, Nhyira FM, Asempa FM as well as TV and online networks – Multi TV and Myjoyonline.com respectively . Over the years, it has built a reputation for excellence.

The Special Recognition Award was jointly won by the Bank of Ghana, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the State Interests and Governance Authority and Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

Meanwhile, some people who also received special recognition at the event include the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison as well as his two deputies as well as the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Janet Fofie. .

While Nhyiraba Yaw Sompa Okyere became the Promising Director of the Year, Dr John Kofi Mensah was named Innovative Director of the Year.

The competitive price category saw Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana become the best life insurer for good corporate governance, B5 Plus Limited as the best in the Fabricated Metal Industry category and Zenith Bank as the best in the Universal Bank category.

The 4th IoD-Gh Corporate Governance Excellence Awards 2021 had as its theme “Good corporate governance and ethical leadership: an essential requirement for organizational recovery”.

The overarching objective of the awards and the conference is to stimulate and maintain the culture of good corporate governance, to uphold the professionalism and development of directors through education for the benefit of organizations and parties. stakeholders and for Ghana’s prosperity.
