Heriot-Watt University in Dubai to host WATTXPO

Dubai Heriot-Watt University has announced that it will host WATTXPO at its Dubai campus at Knowledge Park on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. WATTXPO will see the campus transform into several pavilions that will showcase the various programs offered by the University, include a series of engaging workshops, and offer potential students the opportunity to speak to academic staff, admissions, and student services.

The University also announced the launch of the Heriot-Watt Expo Award. As part of this award, a discount of 6,000 Dh will be granted to any student (foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate, including MBA) applying and paying the tuition fee deposit before November 19, 2021 for admission into January 2022. The amount of the scholarship will be distributed equally over the payment plan for the first year of studies.

WATTXPO will include several pavilions as follows: Student Pavilion; Support pavilion; Design pavilion; Pavilion of sustainability; Company pavilion; Technology pavilion; Pavilion of Innovation; Development Pavilion; Pavilion of Humanity.

Each pavilion will host engaging workshops that will give participants an overview of the different study programs offered by the University. For example, the Tech Pavilion will host a hands-on automotive workshop where participants will have the chance to build their own cars, modify them, and then test them in a high-speed race, giving them insight of what the study Engineering might be like. Likewise, the Design Pavilion will host a t-shirt design workshop that will give attendees the opportunity to design their own t-shirts and find out what a degree from the School of Textiles and Design entails. For those considering a career in finance, the Business Pavilion will host a demonstration of sustainable finance and investing in the Bloomberg Suite.

The group from Dubai’s Heriot-Watt University will add to the excitement through a series of musical performances spread over the day to celebrate the event.

There will also be staff present who can help students better understand the structure of the program, potential careers, application and payment procedures, etc.
