SSIF organizes the 4th forum on corporate governance | Jordan News


Ammon news – The Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) organized the fourth corporate governance forum on Sunday entitled: “Modern Trends in Corporate Governance” for representatives of the Social Security Company on the boards of administration of companies in which the SSC holds shares.

SSIF CEO Kholoud Saqqaf said the approach the fund has embarked upon, by organizing specialist forums to keep pace with international best practices in corporate governance, aims to build a “team distinguished representatives on boards of directors, “Jordanian news agency Petra reported.

It also aims to enhance the investments of shareholders, including the SSC, and increase the profitability of companies, which inevitably leads to developing the investment environment in the Kingdom, Saqqaf added.

During the forum, a number of local and Arab experts reviewed specialized working papers on the experiences of boards of directors in dealing with the circumstances of the pandemic and the challenges and repercussions of the pandemic on the business environment.

The participants also highlighted the important role of corporate governance in the sustainability of companies, the speed and efficiency of actions to face the different conditions encountered by a given company, and the strategies and indicators to measure and assess the performance of boards of directors. , which will help boards to identify and effectively address existing gaps.

The event aims to complete the implementation of an SSIF program to enhance the skills and capabilities of SSC representatives on boards of directors and familiarize them with the latest developments and trends in corporate governance and d wise administration.
