Women must try to influence the business world at Expo

Dubai: Women must break down all barriers and influence the business world for a better future by working together. This was echoed by speakers at the AHK Business Women Forum, which was held at Expo 2020 Dubai.

“These are exceptional times for women in the UAE as we celebrate our 50th anniversary,” said Hafsa Al Ulama, UAE Ambassador to Germany. “Gender equality is of paramount importance and the Constitution guarantees equal rights for men and women.”

“We cannot do without the potential offered by women as we shape our future,” said Claudia Dörr-Voß, State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. “We must work together to remove all barriers in the path of our female talents, including financing instruments like venture capital.”

Founded last January by the Emirati German Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), the AHK Businesswomen’s Forum is a networking platform for businesswomen and professionals. It aims to support women starting their career growth and meeting like-minded people. The forum hosts events, workshops and networking meetings regularly highlighting the themes of women’s empowerment, female leadership, diversity and the gender gap.
